Mentorship Committee

Purpose

The Mentorship Committee is dedicated to empowering and guiding young Black women of all ages through mentorship, education, and leadership development. Rooted in the organization’s mission of sisterhood, scholarship, and service, this committee provides support that nurtures personal growth, confidence, and success.

Initiatives

The Mentorship Committee designs and implements programs focused on career development, academic achievement, literacy, and etiquette. By creating safe, supportive spaces for learning and growth, the committee helps young women develop the skills and self-assurance needed to thrive in every stage of life.

Key initiatives include:

  • Black Girls Read: A summer reading program that promotes literacy, self-expression, and confidence among young girls through engaging discussions and culturally relevant books.

  • EmpowerHER Scholarship: Annual scholarships awarded to college women who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service.

  • Workshops & Mentoring Events: Opportunities for career coaching, educational advancement, and life skills training led by SWING PHI SWING members and professional partners.

Through these initiatives, the committee builds bridges between generations of women—encouraging each Sister to uplift and guide those who follow.

How to Get Involved

We welcome mentors, educators, and community partners who share our commitment to empowering young women.

  • Partner with Us: Collaborate on mentorship programs, literacy drives, or educational workshops.

  • Sponsor a Scholar: Support our scholarship fund to help college women achieve their academic and leadership goals.

  • Volunteer: Serve as a mentor, speaker, or workshop facilitator at one of our youth or collegiate events.

  • Donate Books or Resources: Contribute materials that support literacy, personal growth, and professional development.
