Health & Wellness Committee

Purpose

The Atlanta Graduate Chapter of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Inc., Health & Wellness Committee is dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our Sisters and the surrounding community. We aim to provide education, resources, and support that empower individuals to make healthier lifestyle choices, reduce health disparities, and build a culture of wellness within our organization.

Initiatives

  • Organizing health awareness campaigns on topics such as nutrition, stress management, fitness, and chronic disease prevention.

  • Partnering with local health professionals and organizations to provide screenings, workshops, and resources.

  • Encouraging holistic wellness by addressing mental health, physical activity, and social connection.

  • Advocating for equitable access to health and wellness resources for underserved groups.

Signature Events

• Annual Health & Wellness Fair – Free screenings, vendor exhibits, fitness demonstrations, and expert-led workshops.

• Wellness Challenge Series – Month-long initiatives (e.g., step challenges, hydration goals, mindfulness practices) to encourage healthy habits.

• Mental Health Awareness Month Programming – Workshops, panel discussions, and resources to destigmatize mental health conversations.

• Community Fitness Days – Group walks, yoga in the park, or fitness classes to promote active living.

Community Impact

Through its programs, the Health & Wellness Committee will:

• Support community awareness of preventive health practices.

• Provide access to free screenings and resources for hundreds of participants.

• Create opportunities for meaningful conversations around mental health.

• Strengthen community connections by fostering inclusive, health-focused events.

How to Get Involved

Sisters and community partners can:
